The goal of this study period in the spring of 2023 is to complete the writing of the book ”Stochastic Recipes in image processing”. This book, written by Agnès Desolneux, Julie Delon, Bruno Galerne and Valentin De Bortoli, presents in a pedagogical way a panorama of stochastic models and approaches used in image processing and image analysis. It covers classical and historical models of the domain, as well as very recent research topics, especially those based on developments in artificial intelligence (machine learning and deep neural networks).
The book is addressed to graduate students and researchers in statistics and probability who wish to apply their models on real data, as well to practitioners who want to uncover the theory behind the algorithms they use.
Le but de ce séjour d’étude au printemps 2023 est de finaliser la rédaction du livre “Stochastic Recipes in Image Processing”. Ce livre, écrit par Agnès Desolneux, Julie Delon, Bruno Galerne et Valentin De Bortoli, présente de manière pédagogique un panorama de modèles et approches stochastiques utilisés en traitement et analyse
des images. Il couvre des modèles classiques et historiques aussi bien que des sujets de recherche très récents, notamment parmi ceux s’appuyant sur les développements en intelligence artificielle (apprentissage automatique et réseaux de neurones profonds). Ce livre s’adresse aux étudiants ou chercheurs plus avancés en statistiques ou probabilités souhaitant appliquer leurs modèles à des données réelles, mais aussi aux praticiens de l’image s’intéressant à la théorie derrière les algorithmes qu’ils utilisent.
