This conference aims at bringing together experts with different backgrounds on very active research subjects, related to the emergence of universal laws (both deterministic and stochastic) from particle systems. The mathematical topics of the conference include hydrodynamic limits, macroscopic fluctuations (both equilibrium and non-equilibrium), universality in statistical physics models, and metastability issues.
The main goal is to promote discussion about the selected topics from different perspectives and with a variety of inputs. This conference is organized in honour of Prof. Claudio Landim.
A wide part of the numerous topics of his outstanding scientific research will be covered.
