The goal of this research group is to investigate the obstructions for a PL–manifold to be smoothable from the viewpoint of multisections. It is known that PL–manifolds with no smooth structures do exist from dimension 8. An interesting example is given by Milnor 4k– manifolds, k > 1. These manifolds can be constructed by gluing fiber bundles over spheres; such explicit descriptions may be useful in the construction of a multisection.
