One week for professional academic research mathematicians wanting to understand topics related to climate change in order to include them in their teaching, their life and their profession at large. The mathematical community can thus help bridge the gaps between IPCC scientists, the academic community and the general public. This week will be in French and participants will come by train. If you wish to organize a similar event in English somewhere else, the organizers will be happy to help you copy this event, please feel free to contact us.
Objectifs : Comment être utile en tant qu’enseignant·e et/ou chercheur·e de mathématiques à l’heure des crises écologiques? Une semaine à destination des mathématiciennes et mathématiciens (de tous les domaines et sans prérequis) désirant s’approprier les enjeux écologiques, donnera des pistes de réponse. Une semaine pour réfléchir à 100% aux enjeux de la crise écologique, s’approprier ensemble du langage, et produire des supports pour que la communauté mathématique puisse rediffuser nos connaissances.
Cette semaine sera structurée de la manière suivante: 5 matinées d’exposés pour se former (modélisation du climat, économie des communs, écosystèmes, IA), les après-midi avec des ateliers pour réfléchir et travailler ensemble à la concrétisation de ces supports.
