The Summer School in the History of Mathematics is designed for secondary school and undergraduate mathematics teachers who volunteer with the aim of establishing or reinforcing a foundation of basic knowledge in the history of mathematics, acquiring initial rigorous methodological reflexes in the history of mathematics, and finally, designing their own pedagogical resources using the history of mathematics. Each day will be structured around a lecture, followed by a workshop on reading historical texts, and in the afternoon, workshops on designing pedagogical resources. The theme selected for the 2024 session is: Showing in Mathematics.
L’École d’été d’histoire des mathématiques s’adresse à des enseignants de mathématiques du secondaire et du premier cycle universitaire volontaires dans le but de se constituer, ou bien de consolider, un socle de connaissances élémentaires en histoire des mathématiques, d’acquérir de premiers réflexes méthodologiques rigoureux en histoire des mathématiques, et enfin de concevoir leurs propres ressources pédagogiques utilisant l’histoire des mathématiques. Chacune des journées sera structurée autour d’un cours magistral, suivi d’un atelier de lecture de textes historiques, et, l’après-midi, d’ateliers de conception de ressources pédagogiques. Le thème retenu pour la session 2024 est : Montrer en mathématiques.
