Since 1999 the Euro-Maghrebian Workshops on Evolutions Equations have been organized biannually by researchers from countries in the Maghreb and Europe. It started in Marrakech in Morocco and then took place in Italy, Germany, France, as well as Tunisia and Algeria. In these conferences we put a special emphasis on mini courses about recent topics in the field. We also give the opportunity to young researchers, especially PhD students, to present their results and discuss with senior researchers from different countries. The dynamical behavior of many systems in science and technology can be described by evolution equations. The fundamental examples such as heat, wave, Schrödinger, reaction-diffusion, and Navier Stokes equations are the mathematical foundation for the modeling of countless problems coming from, e.g., nonlinear optics, chemical reactions, population dynamics, and fluid mechanics. Important topics are the qualitative and longtime behavior of solutions, control and inverse problems, or stochastic equations. Within a functional analytic framework, the methods in the area of evolution equations include PDE techniques, harmonic analysis, geometry, operator and spectral theory and stochastic analysis. There is also a wide range of applications such as in Biology and other fields. This wide range of topics is reflected by the invited speakers of this 2020’s workshop. This meeting is rather a School than a Workshop but we keep this name for a tradition. We will organize three mini-courses, a small number of talks by senior researchers (less than 8) and a large number of short talks by young researchers, especially PhD students.

Depuis 1999, l’Euro-Maghreb Workshop sur les équations d’évolution a lieu tous les deux ans en alternance entre l’Europe et le Maghreb. La première édition a eu lieu à Marrakech au Maroc puis il a été organisé en Italie, Allemagne, France, Tunisie et Algérie. Dans chacune de ces rencontres, il y a eu des mini-cours portant sur des sujets d’actualité (souvent trois de trois heures chacun). Ces mini-cours profitent aux jeunes, notamment les doctorants ainsi qu’aux chercheurs confirmés. Ce Workshop est aussi l’occasion de réunir des chercheurs des deux rives de la Méditerranée et donner l’occasion aux jeunes d’exposer leurs travaux. Les équations d’évolution telles que les équations de la chaleur, des ondes, de Schrödinger, de réaction-diffusion, Navier-Stokes… sont des modèles mathématiques pour un très grand nombre de problèmes issus de la physique, chimie, biologie, médecine… La théorie a évolué énormément ces dernières décennies en s’ouvrant davantage vers des applications concrètes. Les problèmes étudiés concernent, entre autres, le comportement asymptotique des solutions, théorie du contrôle, problèmes inverses, équations stochastiques… Les méthodes utilisées proviennent des EDP, analyse harmonique, théorie des opérateurs, théorie spectrale et l’analyse stochastique. Cette rencontre est plus dans un esprit d’Ecole que de Workshop au sens habituel. On y organisera trois mini-cours, un petit nombre d’exposés par des séniors (moins de huit) et un grand nombre d’exposés par des jeunes, notamment les doctorants.
