RESEARCH IN PAIRS

Geometry and Control of Interacting Point Systems
January 11-22, 2016
The aim of the project is the study of interacting point systems in the framework of an approach developed by the participants of the project in the special case of polygonal linkage and point charges on curves.

The approach is based on several investigations of critical points of various Morse functions on configuration spaces such as the oriented area, Coulomb energy and several other geometrically and physically meaningful functions.

The research may be grouped in three categories:

  • Morse theory on the configuration space
  • Combinatorics of the configuration space

  • Control and navigation problems
