The purpose of the « Winter Braids » schools is to provide students with several mini-courses on classical or emerging thematics. In addition to these, students and postdocs are given the opportunity to share the results of their current research through short talks and poster sessions.
Winter Braids VIII is the eighth edition of an itinerant school on braids and low-dimensional topology that will be held at CIRM within the thematic month on « Low Dimensional Topology and Related Topics ». |
Winter Braids VIII est la huitième édition d’une école itinérante sur les tresses et la topologie en petite dimension. Elle se déroulera au CIRM, au sein du mois thématique « Autour de la topologie en petite dimension ».
Le but de l’école Winter Braids est, d’une part, de réunir les doctorants et postdoctorants en topologie pour leur proposer un socle commun de connaissances et un aperçu des thématiques classiques et émergentes en topologie de petite dimension et, d’autre part, de leur fournir une opportunité de présenter leurs résultats au cours de courts exposés ou de séances de posters. |

There will also be short talks (25 minutes) and a poster session devoted to student presentations (not necessarily focused on braids or their generalizations).
The school will start on Monday morning and will end on Friday at noon. A pre-registration on-line form is available above, that should be filled before 31/10/2017. Selected participants will be contacted afterwards to confirm their registration. We will support living expenses for all confirmed registered students or postdocs. Note, however, that this year we will not be able to provide any help for travel expenses. Plusieurs exposés courts (25 minutes) et une séance de poster seront également proposés aux participants pour présenter leurs travaux (pas nécessairement sur les tresses et leurs généralisations).
L’école débutera le lundi matin et se terminera le vendredi à midi. Vous trouverez, ci-dessus, un formulaire de pré-inscription en ligne à remplir avant le 31/10/2017. Les participants sélectionnés seront ensuite recontactés pour confirmer leur inscription. Les frais de logement seront pris en charge pour tous les participants n’ayant pas de poste permanent. Cette année, nous ne pourrons, par contre, fournir la moindre aide concernant les déplacements.
